THE PRECISION ADVANTAGE

Superior Materials & Craftsmanship

Our team has years of experience working with customers in many industries. This experience allows us to offer insight and expertise
about the specific challenges that you’re facing. We “get it” and we understand the issues that you’re dealing with.

We have a wide variety of materials available to us in order to select the best one for a customer’s application. We routinely work with mild steel, AR400, Tri-Braze abrasion-resistant steel, Super-C chromium carbide steel, and a wide range of stainless steels. We utilize many types of hard-facing and overlay materials to provide additional wear resistance in key spots on our equipment.

THE PRECISION ADVANTAGE

No Unscheduled Down-Time!

When our customers are making money using a Precision solution, we’ve achieved our mission. We take a Capital Expenditure + Operating Expense view of the investment that our customers are making. Our solutions are not always the lowest acquisition cost, but measured over time and including the impact of loss of production due to downtime, repair frequency and cost, maintenance schedule and cost, our customers tell us that our solutions offer industry-best ROI.

THE PRECISION ADVANTAGE

Engineered Specifically For The Application

Our sole focus is to understand a customer’s need and then develop a tailored solution to address the need. That’s it. We won’t ever try to push a customer towards an off-the-shelf product if it isn’t the best solution for the application. Precision won’t ever try to convince a customer to lower their expectations in order to make a standard product look like the answer.

We have the knowledge and a materials/manufacturing toolkit to develop solutions that are engineered or configured to solve specific customer needs.

THE PRECISION ADVANTAGE

USA Production

All of Precision’s products are Made in America. We are very proud of that fact and want to be a part of a vibrant and growing manufacturing sector of the economy.

There are pragmatic reasons that make domestic production a smart choice as well. Utilizing domestic suppliers of steel and components and local outside processing services gives us tight control over product quality. The on-time delivery record we’ve established wouldn’t be possible without close coordination with domestic suppliers. USA production translates into excellent product quality, product performance, and on-time delivery for Precision’s customers.

THE PRECISION ADVANTAGE

Durability & Longevity

A key feature of all of Precision’s products is their durability. This is linked to the ROI that we want to deliver for our customers – the longer one of our products can be operated, the lower the overall cost of ownership and the better the ROI.

The superior durability doesn’t happen by accident. If your application calls for it, we’ll recommend upgrading materials but we don’t create durability just by making things thicker and heavier. We set high standards for welding and machining work and we’re continually looking at the design of our equipment to find ways to extend life.

THE PRECISION ADVANTAGE

Rebuildable!

Precision components are 100% REBUILDABLE!

On-Site

Upon arriving, TES Technicians will meet with all appropriate personnel, identify potential hazards and address any/all concerns. The survey scope will then be recapped and a completion time established.

  • It is important that all systems are shutdown using lock out/tag out procedures, so the specified components can be thoroughly evaluated.
If the system is not able to be shut down, the technician’s evaluation will be limited.
  • While on-site TES technicians normally operate with minimal supervision and are allowed to take photos for documentation purposes.
  • Should the survey last for more than a day, start/quit times will be established as well as the procedures for exiting/entering the operation.

Four

Wrap Up

Upon the conclusion of the equipment evaluation and survey, the TES technician will have a brief meeting to provide an overview of the findings with a more thorough report provided within 10-working days.

  • Wrap up meeting attendees: Maintenance Manager, Plant Superintendent and the TES company point of contact.

THE PRECISION ADVANTAGE

Component Rebuild Service

NOT ALL COMPONENTS ARE CREATED EQUAL! In the crowded industrial material handling industry, it would be easy to view all rotary feeders, rotary valves and screw conveyors through the same lens. However, the reality is there is a BIG DIFFERENCE between our components and all the others. Every component that Precision builds is built with serviceability in mind! We strive to make preventative maintenance and/or regular service activities quick and easy because the sooner your moving material, the sooner your plant is making money! Furthermore, every component we build is built with the expectation that you will be rebuilding it! We strive to put an end to the component graveyard that tends to build up behind most industrial plants by building rotary feeders, rotary valves and screw conveyors that are rebuildable! This means all Precision components can be reconditioned, rebuilt and reused several times over, which is a tremendous cost savings over the life of the product.

ROTARY FEEDER REBUILDING

Rotary Feeder Rebuilding

All Precision Rotary Feeders are manufactured with the expectation that they will be rebuilt, which we have been doing for 30+ years! Rebuilding is an economical alternative to purchasing a brand-new unit! Precision Rotary Feeders are made to be REBUILT, REFRESHED and REUSED! Extend the life of your rotary feeder by rebuilding!

ROTARY FEEDER REBUILDING

Evaluation Process

  • 1 In most cases, customers send their feeders to us for evaluation but our sales team can issue a “standard rebuild” budgetary quote sight unseen.
  • 2 The process starts with the complete disassembly and inspection of the feeder. We document its condition in photos and measurements.
  • 3 A detailed report is prepared and sent to you with a quotation for the rebuilding.

ROTARY FEEDER REBUILDING

Rebuilding Process

  • 1 A thorough sandblasting of all components
  • 2 The feeder barrel is bored to “clean-up” diameter, which leaves a smooth, sound barrel with all surface treatments removed.
  • 3 The barrel is treated with the appropriately specified surface hardening treatments if/ when applicable.
  • 4 While the barrel is being reconditioned, the rotor undergoes a process called “ringing and vaning”
    • The rotor vanes and rotor ends are cut back 3-6” from the OD
    • Laser-cut, replacement steel is welded in place to bring the OD back to an oversized dimension
  • 5 The new barrel diameter is carefully measured and the rebuilt rotor is machined to restore the factory clearance for the size of feeder and the operating temperature.
  • 6 The feeder is reassembled with refurbished end bells, new bearings, new brass seals, new knives, painted, and test-ran to ensure proper functionality.

ROTARY VALVE REBUILDING

Rotary Valve Rebuilding

As easy as 1-2-3! When Precision revolutionized the industry by introducing a modular valve that was manufactured from an abrasion-resistant alloy, we completely changed how our customers view their airlock! The introduction of the Precision Rotary Valve (PMV) put the power of rebuilding in the hands of our customers! The modularity of the unit allows for quick assembly and disassembly and replacement of wear parts. For this reason, customers are no longer required to REPLACE their airlock but rather simply replace the worn component and put the unit back to work. No long outages, not costly plant downtime, just a simple rebuild and it can be completed on-site! However, if your customers would rather have us complete the rebuild for them, we will gladly do so!

ROTARY VALVE REBUILDING

Evaluation Process

  • 1 In most cases, our customers call ahead of the scheduled plant outage and order the required replacement parts so the rotary valve can be rebuilt onsite. However, when the customer would like for Precision to do the rebuild, we ask that the rotary valve be shipped back to our main office for a complete evaluation.
  • 2 Once the rotary valve has been received onsite, we break it completely down and carefully measure and evaluate each individual component. This process is carefully documented with photos and technical information.
  • 3 A detailed report and rebuild quotation is sent to you for review.

ROTARY VALVE REBUILDING

Rebuilding Process

  • 1 We break the unit all the way down and remove all paint and surface treatments still present.
  • 2 The out of tolerance components are re- placed with newly manufactured items.
  • 3 The appropriate surface treatment is applied.
  • 4 The components are reassembled, and the clearances carefully measured according to the operational and/or environmental temperatures where the rotary valve will be running.
  • 5 The unit is repainted and prepared for shipment.

PRECISION REBUILDING SERVICES

Screw Conveyor Rebuilding

Replace the verbiage under Screw Conveyor Rebuilding with: Our approach to manufac- turing the highest quality screw conveyors is very unique in an industry flooded with common “off the shelf” screw conveyors. As a result, the application and the material being moved, plays an important role in how a screw conveyor wears. A typical screw conveyor rebuild may include any one of the following:
  • Flight replacement
  • Broken drive and/or tail shafts
  • The pipe area at the infeed has worn thin
  • The flanges are in need of replacement
  • Screw straightening
All Precision screw conveyors are manufactured with the expectation that it will be rebuilt. A screw refurbishment is a great cost-effective way of extending the life of the original screw conveyor, which further increases the return on investment over the life cycle of the product.
Creating the opportunity for customers to REBUILD versus REPLACING is why so many people trust Precision with screw conveyor needs.
